Existing Franchisee Experiences
Since December 2020 we have had a steady pipeline of people joining The Gadget Refuge. Read about some of those journeys below.
Chester - Dan Woodbury
Background
Dan chose The Gadget Refuge franchise after 25+ years in engineering roles, most recently working for TetraPak. With a keen interested in technology, Dan felt that the franchise package was a perfect fit for his interests and future aspirations.
The Story So Far
Dan’s approach to customer service and his commitment in his own words to “being consistent with what Gav & Tracie started” has been excellent. Dan has recently passed the first anniversary of launching (1.12.20), and having acheived an income of 30k plus, Dan is more than happy with how things have progressed.
We are lucky to have Dan working closely alongside us at HQ and he has been a huge help in shaping the franchise from a franchisees perspective.
Marketing Activity
To date all marketing activity has been focussed on organic and paid advertising through Facebook. Dan’s area is now at a stage whereby there is no ongoing spend in terms of advertising as there is more than enought repeat and referral business to keep Dan really busy.
Tamworth - Ross Garland
Background
Ross joined the network in March 2021, starting alongside his full time logistics roll. Ross felt that the franchise package was a perfect fit for his interests and future aspirations for being financially secure.
The Story So Far
Ross took immediately to the technical work, flying through training which was carried out at the same time as Sam Thomas from Cardiff. Whilst Ross’s technical ability is excellent, his complete buy in to the company ethos and approach has without doubt made him one of the stars within the network. Customer service is one of Ross’s major strong points, as is his contribution to helping us to develop the network on the whole, putting forward innovative ideas and always willing to give time for other franchisees. Ross has recently begun a mentoring role for one of our new Franchisees, something we are keen to replicate as the network grows.
Marketing Activity
To date marketing activity has been focused on organic and paid advertising through Facebook. Ross has also undertaken some leaflet distribution using a third party. Referrals from happy customers have proved successful for Ross in further developing enquiries and we have just engaged with an external consultant (accross the network) to improve lead generation via Google My Business.
